About Natascia Taken

With a background in molecular biology, Natascia advises on legal strategies for companies in the food, beverage, supplement, drug and cosmetic industries. By understanding the scientific aspects of a product, Natascia can assist clients with regulatory and compliance needs before the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Federal Trade Commission (FTC), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and National Advertising Division (NAD).

Natascia reviews product labels and packaging for compliance and advises on claim substantiation for websites and other advertising such as social media, print, radio television and internet. Natascia also assists retailers, manufacturers, and distributors of hemp and hemp-based cannabidiol (CBD) products with labeling, advertising, and marketing of these products. Natascia has helped with pre-litigation matters as well, including drafting demand letters and responses to demand letters. Most notably, Natascia has been seconded to several companies and has acted as in-house counsel to help advise on important matters.

Prior to joining Amin Talati Wasserman, Natascia began her legal career as a law clerk at L&G Law Group, LLP, where she helped spearhead their Cannabis practice by assisting clients with the first ever round of Illinois Cannabis Dispensary applications. Natascia worked full-time while attending Loyola University Chicago School of Law’s first class of weekend students.

When Natascia isn’t working, she’s busy chasing after her two daughters and rambunctious dogs, running, baking, or eating dessert. Natascia loves running half marathons and marathons. She also loves traveling with her family and has a goal of traveling to every country in Europe.
