Amin Talati advises and represents clients with respect to a wide range of labeling, inspection and enforcement issues under the USDA National Organic Program and standards for the production, handling and labeling of organically produced products. Our firm also advises regarding labeling, inspection and enforcement issues under the federal Meat and Poultry Inspection Acts.

Our USDA Services Include:

  • Assisting in all aspects of labeling compliance including net weight, nutritional values, standards of identity, product dating
  • Counseling on product formulation procedures including organic, irradiated and natural meat and poultry products
  • Advising The implementation of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control
  • Point (HACCP) and Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) laboratory testing programs
  • Counseling on all aspects of descriptive product claims including specific nutrient claims such as “good source”, “fat free” and “low fat”, animal raising claims, fresh product claims, natural and organic claims and certified claims
  • Providing guidance on ingredient use and listing including additives in meat and poultry products and allergens
  • Counseling on procedures for joint food and safety inspection service (FSIS) including obtaining approval for sources of radiation used to eliminate bacteria in meat and poultry products
