Amin Talati represents companies on a broad range of food law issues before federal and state agencies and courts involving the FDA, FTC (advertising and unfair trade practices), USDA (meat and poultry), and U.S. Customs (labeling). Our firm provides regulatory counsel to clients in all phases of food product development and promotion.

Our Food Law Services Include:

  • Developing technical substantiation to support product claims made in labeling, advertising, and promotions of food products
  • Working with federal agencies, including the FDA and the USDA, to gain approval of products and claims, including petitions for new health claims and nutrient content claims
  • Counseling on the use of various descriptive food claims including “organic”, “natural”, “fresh”, “pasteurized”, and “fortified”
  • Advising on all aspects of label representations including statements of identity, net content declarations, nutritional information and ingredient listings
  • Counseling on all aspects of product formulation including GRAS Self Affirmations, Fortification policies, GMPs, GCP and GLP Compliance and SOPs
  • Assisting with FDA submissions including Food Contact Notifications, Food Additive Notifications, GRAS Notifications, Statements of Nutritional Support, Citizens Petitions, Temporary Marketing Permit Applications, FDAMA Notifications and Pasteurized Notifications
  • Registration of food facilities under the Bioterrorism Act
  • Counseling on all aspects of safety including clinical testing, warning disclosures and product disclaimers
  • Responding to 483s, Warning Letters, FDA/Customs Detentions and related FDA, FTC, State AG and Department of Health Regulatory Actions
